''Gomphosphaeria'' (sometimes written ''Gonphosphaeria'') is a genus of cyanobacteria belonging to the family Gomphosphaeriaceae. The genus was species description, first described by Friedrich Traugott Kützing in 1836. The genus has cosmopolitan distribution.
