Goldheart Assembly were an England, English indie pop/rock band from London, England. History Goldheart Assembly formed in 2007, naming themselves after a Guided by Voices, Guided By Voices song, The Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory. They quickly found a lifelong fan in DJ Steve Lamacq, who, in February 2009, made them the first unsigned band to record a BBC Radio 1, Radio 1 Maida Vale Session in over a decade. INTRO Festival (known as Middlesbrough Music Live until 2010) was an annual music festival in England held across multiple stages in Middlesbrough town centre. It was run and organised by local promotions company Ten Feet Tall alongside the local council, and was highly regarded as hosting many bands who rose to fame shortly afterwards. ''Long Distance Song Effects'' is the second studio album by Goldheart Assembly, released on 1 July 2013 by EMI / New Music Club. Background The band started working on their second album, ''Long Distance Song Effects'', in 2011. Twenty-five tracks initially recorded in London were gradually whittled down during trips back and forth to Lucerne where they recorded with Swiss musician Tobi Gmür, who they had met on an earlier European tour. In an interview with Gigsultz magazine, John Herbert spoke of the band's love of Lucerne and Switzerland: "We fell in love with the city and the people. We kept going back whenever we could even though our manager wanted us to mix it in London." Laurie Latham (born 1954) is a British record producer whose career has now entered its fifth decade.
