Golden Gaytime (song)
''In Bed With My Doona'' is the second album by Australian comedian/musician The Bedroom Philosopher and is a reference to the Madonna film '' Madonna: Truth or Dare'' which was known in some countries as ''In Bed with Madonna''. It was released on Nan and Pop Records in 2005 (see 2005 in music). The release was taken strongly by Triple J's audience, with the first single "I'm So Postmodern" reaching number 72 in the Hottest 100. Follow-up singles included "Folkstar" and "Golden Gaytime", a song about the ice cream bar of the same name. The first 100 copies contain Track 16, "Special Features", which is a live track recorded at Mic in Hand comedy night, Friend in Hand Hotel, Sydney September 2004. An additional 100 copies featured a special ‘coloured barcode’ but no live track, and were produced for the regional tour of Western Australia supporting Australian folk comedy trio Tripod. The Bedroom Philosopher
Justin Heazlewood (born 1980), the Bedroom Philosopher, is an Australian author, songwriter and performer. He has released several albums of musical comedy, toured Australia extensively, been nominated for an ARIA Award and published books about his experiences in the entertainment industry. Recording career 2002–2005 ''Living on the Edge of My Bed'' The Bedroom Philosopher began in 2002, Heazlewood submitted a three-minute radio piece for the ABC Heywire competition about his passion for folk music, which led to him becoming a regular guest on Triple J's ''The Morning Show''. He also filmed two pilot episodes of ''The Bedroom Philosopher Show'' for ABC Fly TV, a now defunct digital youth television station. The 2005 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on 26 January 2006. It was the thirteenth such countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. The broadcast began at 10am AEDT and finished a little before 7pm when the top song was announced. Broadcast live from the Sydney Big Day Out from 12pm AEDT, it regularly crossed to winning artists and listeners around Australia. Voters were limited to 20 votes each – 10 via SMS (charged at 30c per message) and 10 via the Internet (at no charge). Wolfmother had the most entries in the countdown with six, at that point the most by an artist in a single countdown. Golden Gaytime
Golden Gaytime (Cookie Crumble in New Zealand) is a popular ice cream snack that is made and distributed by the Streets confectionery company in Australia, and first released in 1959. It is a toffee and vanilla ice cream dipped in compound chocolate, and wrapped in vanilla biscuit-like "crumbs" on a wooden paddlepop-stick. Its name has survived intact regardless, or because, of the possible homosexual connotations in modern decades. Variations On 4 August 2015, Streets released Golden Gaytime ice-cream tub format in addition to its usual popsicle stick format, as well as selling a tub of the ice cream's crumbs on the side. Tripod are an Australian musical comedy trio founded by Scod (Scott Edgar), Yon (Simon Hall) and Gatesy (Steven Gates) in 1996. They provide original songs and harmonies, strung together by comic banter. History Live shows Tripod began as buskers in Melbourne malls, performing a far-fetched prop act of which no record exists.
