Gold Coast Hockey Centre is a hockey stadium in Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The venue was renovated to host the Hockey at the 2018 Commonwealth Games – Men's tournament, men's and Hockey at the 2018 Commonwealth Games – Men's tournament, women's hockey event of the 2018 Commonwealth Games. It was redeveloped for $16.5 million and was completed in June 2017. It is located at Keith Hunt Park in Labrador and is home to the Gold Coast Hockey Association and the Labrador Hockey Club. Field hockey (or simply referred to as hockey in some countries where ice hockey is not popular) is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and also known as Gold Coast 2018, were an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that was held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018. This is the sixth time that the hockey competition was held, following the sport's debut at the 1998 Games.
