Damnation
Damnation (from Latin '' damnatio'') is the concept of divine punishment after death for sins that were committed, or in some cases, good actions not done, on Earth. In Ancient Egyptian religious tradition, it was believed that citizens would recite the 42 negative confessions of Maat as their heart was weighed against the feather of truth. If the citizen's heart was heavier than the feather, it was said that it would be devoured by Ammit. Zoroastrianism developed an eschatological concept of a Last Judgment called Frashokereti where the dead will be raised and the righteous wade through a river of milk while the wicked will be burned in a river of molten metal. Abrahamic religions such as Christianity have similar concepts of humans facing judgement after death to determine if they will spend eternity in heaven or not. God Damn were a British rock band from Wolverhampton, England, formed in 2010. Career The band formed in 2010 and were originally a three-piece, until the third member suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident; they are now performing as a duo. They signed to One Little Indian Records in 2014, and released an album named ''Vultures''. Their sound combines 1970s hard rock with 1980s and 1990s grunge, among other influences. As of the release of ''Everything Ever'' in 2016, the band has been a 3-piece, with James Brown providing synthesizer and additional guitar/vocals. The band has toured extensively, playing alongside groups such as Foo Fighters, Thrice, Red Fang, The Cribs, Slaves, and Wolf Alice. They have appeared at Reading and Leeds Festivals and at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. "God Damn" is a song by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. It was released on March 21, 2017, as the second single from their seventh studio album, ''The Stage''. It is the shortest track on the album, coming in at 3:41. The song introduces a heavier sound to the album. Music video On February 1, 2017, the band posted a picture on their social media which stated that they were casting for fans to appear in a new music video (later revealed to be God Damn). Fans were chosen via e-mail submissions and were required to wear black clothing for the video. The video was filmed on February 8, and was released on April 26. The clip shows a live performance of the band playing the song, and it ends with glitch effects taking over the video. It was directed by Anders Rostad.
