Frederick Godber, 1st Baron Godber of Mayfield (6 November 1888 – 10 April 1976) was a British petroleum executive. Sir George Godber
Sir George Edward Godber (4 August 1908 – 7 February 2009) was an English General practitioner, who served as Chief Medical Officer (United Kingdom), Chief Medical Officer for the Government of the United Kingdom from 1960 to 1973. He was also part of the team that planned the National Health Service (NHS) and, as Deputy Chief Medical Officer and subsequently Chief Medical Officer, campaigned against smoking and for immunization against polio and diphtheria. He was chair of the committee that published the three Cogwheel Report, Cogwheel Reports on the organisation of work in hospitals. John Harry Godber (born 18 May 1956) is an English playwright, known mainly for observational comedy, observational comedies. The ''Plays and Players Yearbook'' of 1993 rated him the third most performed playwright in the UK after William Shakespeare and Alan Ayckbourn. Joseph Bradshaw Godber, Baron Godber of Willington, (17 March 1914 – 25 August 1980) was a British Conservative Party politician. He was the Member of Parliament for Grantham from 1951 to 1979 and held ministerial posts in the governments of Harold Macmillan, Alec Douglas-Home, and Edward Heath. Porridge (1974 TV Series)
''Porridge'' is a British sitcom, starring Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale, written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, and broadcast on BBC One, BBC1 from 1974 to 1977. The programme ran for three series and two Christmas specials. A feature film of the Porridge (film), same name based on the series was released in 1979, after Beckinsale's death in March of that year. The sitcom focuses on two prison inmates, Norman Fletcher (played by Barker) and Lennie Godber (played by Beckinsale), who are serving time at the fictional HM Prison, HMP Slade in Cumberland. Peter Fitzroy Godber ( zh, t=葛柏; born 7 April 1922) was a Chief Superintendent of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, serving as Deputy District Commander of Kowloon, Hong Kong. Embroiled in a bribery scandal shortly before his retirement in 1973, he fled to the United Kingdom. He was apprehended in 1974 by British police and extradited back to Hong Kong and subsequently convicted for police corruption and bribery. Peter Clark Godber (born July 17, 1994) is a Canadian professional football offensive lineman for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). College career Godber played college football for the Rice Owls from 2013 to 2017. Professional career BC Lions At the 2018 CFL combine, Godber was asked to leave after declining to participate in events due to illness. Despite this, he was able to work out at Rice's pro day, where his results would have ranked in the short shuttle, three-cone and bench compared to other lineman if it were done at the combine.
