Godavari Ne Kay Kele
Godavari Ne Kay Kele is a short story by eminent Marathi writer Hari Narayan Apte. The story depicts the courage and determination of a young girl from a humble family. Telefilm A telefilm based on the story was produced by Sahyadri Channel of Doordarshan in 2010. Plot Godavari learns that her younger brother Deepu suffers from an eye disease which may cause blindness. The only solution is operation at a costly hospital at Mumbai which is beyond the reach of the poor family. However, Godavari takes Deepu to Mumbai and, promising to serve the surgeon throughout her life, convinces him to operate upon Deepu's eyes. Marathi (; ''Marāṭhī'', ) is an Indo-Aryan language predominantly spoken by Marathi people in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Hari Narayan Apte
Hari Narayan Apte (Devanagari: हरि नारायण आपटे) (8 March 1864 – 3 March 1919) was a Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. Through his writings, he provided an eminent example to future Marathi fiction writers in respect of writing effective novels and short stories which faithfully reflect different aspects of contemporary society. Before him, novelists wrote novels like ''Gulabakawali'' (गुलबकावली) with fantastic themes unrelated to realistic social situations. Apte presided over Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in Akola in 1912. Early life Apte was born in 1864 in the town of Parola in Khandesh region of Maharashtra. Ravi Deep (born Ravi Parkash; 30 December 1954) is an Indian theatre and television director, writer, and actor Biography Ravi Deep started stage acting from his school days and got involved in modern theatre during college days at Kapurthala, a town in India. He along with Lalit Behl, Pramod Moutho, Satish Sharma and Harjit Walia made this small town a hub of modern theatre. He did his Masters in Dramatic Art from Punjabi University, Patiala in 1977.
