God Is My DJ
''God Is My DJ'' is the fifteenth studio album by Italian singer-songwriter Alice, released in 1999 on WEA/Warner Music. After the release of two pop albums, ''Charade'' in 1996 and ''Exit'' in 1998, Alice again changed musical direction and set out on a low-key tour with a six-piece acoustic band performing in smaller venues and churches in the North of Italy, interpreting sacral – but not exclusively religious – music. As the singer writes in the liner notes: "''This is not an exploration of spiritual music as such but rather a search for the spirit in music''." Carla Bissi (born 26 September 1954), known professionally as Alice () or Alice Visconti, is an Italian singer-songwriter and pianist who began her career in the early 1970s. Florian Fricke
Florian Fricke (23 February 1944 – 29 December 2001) was a German musician who started his professional career with electronic music, using the Moog synthesizer, and was a founding member of the Krautrock band Popol Vuh. Early life Born on 23 February 1944, to an affluent Bavarian family, on the Lindau island of Lake Constance, Germany, situated where Germany, Switzerland, and Austria meet, Fricke started playing the piano as a child. He studied piano, composition, and conducting at Conservatories in Freiburg and University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, Munich. While in Munich, at 18, he began exploring avant-garde music such as free jazz. At around that age, he also shot a few short films. Paolo Fresu
Paolo Fresu (; born 10 February 1961) is an Italian jazz trumpet and flugelhorn player, as well as a composer and arranger of music. His unique trumpet sound is recognized as one of the most distinctive in the contemporary jazz scene. Fresu plays four distinct instruments: trumpet, flugelhorn, muted trumpet, and electronics. He selectively uses a t.c. electronic effects unit and "one from the past" by DigiTech, through this equipment, he see it as a way to go back in time.
