Gmina Zawady
__NOTOC__ Gmina Zawady is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Białystok County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of Zawady, which lies approximately west of the regional capital Białystok. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its population is 3,014. The gmina is the proposed location of a new airport to be built near Bialystok. Gmina
The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). Stare Krzewo
Stare Krzewo is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Zawady, within Białystok County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. It lies approximately south-west of Zawady and west of the regional capital Białystok. History Stare Krzewo, Nowe Krzewo and Krzewo-Plebanki were recognized as separate villages already in the 15th century.
