__NOTOC__ Gmina Niechlów is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Its seat is the village of Niechlów, which lies approximately west of Góra and north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 4,911. Neighbouring gminas Gmina Niechlów is bordered by the gminas of Góra, Jemielno, Pęcław, Rudna and Szlichtyngowa. The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' ) is the basic unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,479 gminy throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminy include cities and towns, with 322 among them constituting an independent urban gmina () consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). The gmina has been the basic unit of territorial division in Poland since 1974, when it replaced the smaller gromada (cluster). Three or more gminy make up a higher level unit called a powiat, except for those holding the status of a city with powiat rights. Łękanów
Łękanów is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Niechlów, within Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in western Poland. It lies approximately north-west of Góra, and north-west of the regional capital Wrocław. History and landmarks From the 14th century, the village has been known under various names, which included ''Lankanow'' and ''Lanka''. In the 18th century, it was annexed by Prussia, and from 1871 it was part of the German Empire, within which, as ''Lanken'' it was administratively located in the Province of Lower Silesia and was property of Counts of Schlabrendorf, who had a majorat in the palace of Seppau (Szczepów), some 20 kilometers away.
