Gmina Gościno
__NOTOC__ Gmina Gościno is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Kołobrzeg County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. Its seat is the town of Gościno, which lies approximately south-east of Kołobrzeg and north-east of the regional capital Szczecin. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population was 5,136. Before 2011 it was classed as a rural gmina, becoming urban-rural on 1 January 2011 when Gościno became a town. The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' ) is the basic unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,479 gminy throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminy include cities and towns, with 322 among them constituting an independent urban gmina () consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta'').
