Glueleg
Glueleg was a Canadian alternative rock band that was formed in 1990 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band released three albums and one EP before disbanding in 1998. History Glueleg was formed by Carlos Alonso, Ruben Huizenga and Blake Howard. They had several hit singles from 1994 to 1997 with the songs ''Heroic Doses'', ''Come With Me'' and ''Mr. Pink'' off their second and most successful album ''Heroic Doses'' produced by James Stewart, recorded at Reaction Studios, Toronto in 1994. And with ''Pistons'', and ''Dragonfly'' off their third Sylvia Massy produced album, ''Clodhopper''. The band, led by Chapman Stick player, songwriter and vocalist Alonso and guitar player, songwriter and vocalist Ruben Huizenga broke up in 1998, with the members all going on to different projects. Bob Mackowycz
Bob Mackowycz, Jr. (born 1969) is a Canadian musician, writer and broadcaster. The son of writer and radio program director Bob Mackowycz, Sr., he first became prominent as a rock musician with the band Glueleg. He later moved into radio and television production, producing TSN's '' Off the Record'' and CBC Television's '' The Hour''. As a broadcaster, he hosted talk programming on Toronto's CFRB, as well as being Tom Allen's regular substitute host on CBC Radio 2's ''Radio 2 Morning'', before being named the latter program's new permanent host in November 2009. Mackowycz also served as a regular contributor to Radio 2's ''The Strombo Show''. He earned a 2008 National Screen Institute Drama Prize for the script to the film short ''The Way It Used to Be''. Edgefest
Edgefest was an annual outdoor rock festival in Canada. It was founded by staff members of Toronto radio station CFNY-FM. From 1987 to 2015, the festival was held every year in the summer (except for 2007). The festival was most frequently held on Canada Day at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario or a venue in Toronto. The festival featured predominantly Canadian rock bands. During its 29-year operation, the festival featured more than 300 performers. As of 2015, it was the longest running rock festival in Canada. Ashley Dwayne MacIsaac (born February 24, 1975) is a Canadian fiddler, singer and songwriter from Cape Breton Island. He has received three Juno Awards, winning for Best New Solo Artist and Best Roots & Traditional Album – Solo at the Juno Awards of 1996, and for Best Instrumental Artist at the Juno Awards of 1997. The Chapman Stick is an electric musical instrument devised by Emmett Chapman in the early 1970s. A member of the guitar family, the Chapman Stick usually has ten or twelve individually tuned strings and is used to play bass lines, melody lines, chords, or textures. Jam! was a Canadian website which covers entertainment news. It was part of the Canoe.com online portal, formerly owned and operated by Quebecor through its Sun Media division, and now owned by Postmedia Network. Jam! was the only media outlet that published a comprehensive collection of the official Canadian record charts as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. CKXT-TV, Sun Media's television station in Toronto, aired a nightly entertainment magazine series, ''Inside Jam!''. However, due to low ratings the program's airtime was reduced substantially. AllMusic (previously known as All-Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne.
