Glotter
Glotter is a river of in the Breisgau region in the south of Baden-Württemberg, Germany which is approximately 30 km long. The spring of this river is located at an altitude of 1040 m amsl on the eastern slope of the Kandel near Neuwelt, a suburb of St. Peter in the Black Forest. It crosses the ''Glotter dale'' (in German: Glottertal, which is also the name of a village). Glottertal
Glottertal is a municipality in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. History From 1567 till the Napoleonic Wars the area was part of Further Austria and therefore part of the Habsburg monarchy. Although the history of mining in the Glottertal goes back to Roman times and villages in the area are mentioned 1112 in the chronics of Abbey of Saint Peter in the Black Forest the municipal Glottertal was formed in 1970. The four former independent villages Unterglottertal, Oberglottertal, Ohrensbach und Föhrental were associated to the Glottertal municipal. Denzlingen
Denzlingen is a municipality in the district of Emmendingen, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated north of Freiburg. Geography Denzlingen is located in the Upper Rhine Valley (''Oberrheinische Tiefebene'') at the edge of the Black Forest (''Schwarzwald'') between the river Elz in the north and the Glotter which runs through the southern part of the town. Dreisam
The Dreisam (Celtic: ''*tragisamā'', "the very fast one") is a 29 km long river (48.8 km including its source river Rotbach), and a tributary of the Elz in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The waters of the Dreisam feed the famous Freiburg Bächle runnels. Geography The Dreisam begins in the Dreisam Valley (''Dreisamtal'') which is located in the Southern Black Forest (''Südschwarzwald''). The origin of the river can be found close to a bridge on the '' Landesstraße'' 127 which leads from Kirchzarten to Stegen. Here, two streams, the Rotbach and Wagensteinbach, meet to form the Dreisam river. Elz (Rhine)
The Elz is a river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, a right tributary of the Rhine. It rises in the Black Forest, near the source of the Breg River, Breg. Kandel (mountain)
The Kandel is a mountain, 1,241.4 metres high, in the Black Forest in the south of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Geography The Kandel is located 25 km northeast of Freiburg im Breisgau, Freiburg in the Breisgau and has a height of 1,241 m (4,072 ft). The Kandel belongs to the Central Black Forest gneiss region. The overall shape of the massif was tectonically formed: the Kandel block rises table-like in a northwesterly direction from the plateau around St. Peter (Hochschwarzwald), Sankt Peter. It is surrounded by fault (geology), faults, some of which form clear steps in the terrain; for example the Rhine Plain lies more than 1,000 metres below the Kandel and the summits on the other side of the Elz valley are 500-600 metres lower.
