Dame Elizabeth Gloster, Lady Popplewell, Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, DBE, Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, PC (born 5 June 1949) is a British lawyer who was a judge of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales and Vice-President of the Civil Division. She was the first female judge of the Commercial Court (England and Wales), Commercial Court. Education Gloster was educated at Roedean School and Girton College, Cambridge. Gloster River
The Gloster River is a river in the Marlborough region of New Zealand. It arises on the northern slope of Dillon Cone in the Inland Kaikōura Range and flows north, then south-east and east to join the Waiau Toa / Clarence River which eventually exits into the Pacific Ocean. The Gloster Southern Railroad was a United States shortline railroad that operated in Mississippi and Louisiana. The GLSR began operation in 1990 and provided freight service from Gloster, Mississippi, to the Illinois Central Railroad (now Canadian National) interchange at Slaughter, Louisiana. The line was owned by Georgia-Pacific (GP) which had purchased and refurbished of an abandoned branch line to provide service to a GP oakwood mill in Gloster. Gloster Aircraft Company
The Gloster Aircraft Company was a British aircraft manufacturer from 1917 to 1963. Founded as the Gloucestershire Aircraft Company Limited during the First World War, with the aircraft construction activities of H.H. Martyn & Co. of Cheltenham, England it produced fighters during the war. It was renamed later as foreigners found 'Gloucestershire' difficult to pronounce. It later became part of the Hawker Siddeley group and the Gloster name disappeared in 1963. Gloster designed and built several fighters that equipped the British Royal Air Force (RAF) during the interwar years including the Gladiator, the RAF's last biplane fighter. Gloster House
Gloster House is a Georgian-Palladian country house operating as a hotel and wedding venue near Brosna, County Offaly, Ireland. The design of the house has sometimes been attributed to the architect Edward Lovett Pearce who was a cousin of the owner, Trevor Lloyd, at the time the main house was constructed around 1720 – although no firm evidence of this survives. The house continued to be owned and occupied by the Lloyd family until 1958 when it was sold to the Salesian order to house a school and nursing home. The house changed hands again twice in the 1990s and, having deteriorated over time, was purchased by the current owners in 2001 and subsequently restored. Gloster is a town in central Amite County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 897 at the 2020 census. History Gloster was incorporated on March 11, 1884. It was largely founded as a railroad town. Gloster was named after the engineer who put the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley R.R. through in the 1880s. Drax Biomass operates a per year wood pellet production facility in Gloster. The facility was expected to create 45 jobs, and is called Amite BioEnergy. John Gloster is a physiotherapist who works with cricket teams. He was appointed the physiotherapist to the Indian team in February 2005. Early career Gloster graduated from the University of South Australia, and then worked with the Surrey County Cricket Club for three years, from 1998 to 2001.
