Global Wars
Global Wars is a professional wrestling event that had been held annually by the American Ring of Honor (ROH) promotion since 2012. Originally named Border Wars, the event was renamed Global Wars in 2014 after ROH announced a partnership with the Japanese New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) promotion. Under the new name, the event became a supershow co-produced by the two promotions. The first five were held at the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, while the sixth took place at the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. From 2012 to 2016, the event was held in May alongside War of the Worlds, but in 2017, Global Wars was moved to October and made a four-event tour across Buffalo, New York; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Columbus, Ohio; and Villa Park, Illinois. Global Wars Australia was a 2025 professional wrestling event co-promoted by the American promotion Ring of Honor and its sister promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It was the 18th Global Wars event and took place on February 15, 2025, at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The special event, which was taped the same night as AEW's Grand Slam Australia, aired on tape delay on February 17, 2025, on Honor Club. Ring of Honor (ROH) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. The promotion was founded by Rob Feinstein on February 23, 2002, and was operated by Cary Silkin from 2004 until 2011; the promotion was subsequently sold to the Sinclair Broadcast Group, and then sold to Tony Khan. Global Wars was a professional wrestling supershow co-produced by the American Ring of Honor (ROH) and Japanese New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) promotions. The event took place on May 10, 2014, at the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and aired live on internet pay-per-view (iPPV) through Ustream. The event was originally announced as "Border Wars", a name ROH had used for events in 2012 and 2013, before being re-branded as "Global Wars". Jamin Dale Pugh (January 25, 1984 – January 17, 2023), known by his ring name Jay Briscoe, was an American professional wrestler. He was known for his time with his brother Mark Briscoe as the Briscoe Brothers in Ring of Honor, where he was a two-time ROH World Champion, ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion, and record 13-time ROH World Tag Team Champion.
