''Global Underground 017: Danny Tenaglia, London'' is a DJ mix album in the Global Underground series, compiled and mixed by Danny Tenaglia. The mix is a retrospective look of two sets at Home superclub in London, England. Following his international breakthrough and subsequent high demand in the UK as ‘the DJ’s DJ’, Danny Tenaglia was secured for a much anticipated residency at London's brand new superclub, Home. The troubled, short history of the mega-venue has tended to overshadow the fact that there were some amazing nights there. Danny kept a surreal level of mystique about his visits, playing behind a dark cloth so as keep the focus on the music (quite different from his familiar torch and microphone wielding booth persona). Mixtape
A mixtape (alternatively mix-tape, mix tape or mixed tape) is a compilation of music, typically from multiple sources, recorded onto a medium. With origins in the 1980s, the term normally describes a homemade compilation of music onto a cassette tape, CD, or digital playlist. Superclub
A superclub is a very large or superior nightclub, often with several rooms with different themes. The term was first coined in Mixmag, the British electronic dance and clubbing magazine, in 1995, referring to the new wave of clubs such as Ministry of Sound and Cream, which were dominating the English club scene. Superclubs may include nightclubs that have high capacity, or are multi-story, high profile, and operate city and region wide or are well known. Some superclubs are owned and managed by a dance music record label or a club that was or is culturally important. The term may also be used to define its position within the club scene hierarchy. Simon Paul Berry, known by his alias Art of Trance, is a trance music artist from England. Berry is also known as Poltergeist or Vicious Circles, and has been a member of the trance groups Clanger, Conscious and Union Jack. He has been producing and remixing music since 1993. In addition to his work as an artist, Berry was the founder and head of Platipus Records, based in London. Initially his label only released his own tracks. Schiller () is a German electronic music band that rose to fame in 1998 and is named after the German poet and dramatist Friedrich Schiller. Originally, it was a duo consisting of Christopher von Deylen () and Mirko von Schlieffen. Around 2001 or 2002, von Schlieffen left the band, leaving von Deylen the solo member. Peace Division is the production name for the tribal house duo Clive Henry and Justin Drake. Together, they have proven to be one of the most prolific UK tribal house producers starting with their first record in 1994. The duo have released EPs, remixes, and singles on Kickin Records, Eukahouse, Hooj Choons, Prolekult, Low Pressings, Junior, and NRK Sound Division among others. Peace Division have also produced remixes for a wide variety of music artists including Moby, Superchumbo and Yothu Yindi. Peace Division got its name from a UN peace keeping force. Nicholas John Warren (born 24 October 1968) is an English DJ and record producer. He is best known as a member of the electronic music duo Way Out West, his record label and global live events brand, The Soundgarden, and for his albums released in the Global Underground series. He is also head of A&R for the record label Hope Recordings. Biography In 1988, Nick Warren began DJing in Bristol, playing mainly reggae and indie music until house music became more popular in the UK. By the early 1990s, Warren had become one of the more popular DJs in Bristol, performing regularly at the superclub Vision and DJing for Massive Attack.
