Glenn Holmes
Glenn Holmes is a former state representative for the 63rd District of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Democrat. Life and career Holmes was born and raised in the Mahoning Valley. He graduated from Girard High School before attending Mount Union College, where he received a bachelor's in sociology. Holmes is a father of three and a grandfather of four. In 2008, Holmes was elected the mayor of McDonald, Ohio, after serving as a councilmember there prior to that. There, he focused on employee healthcare and responsible budgeting, and when he left office the town had a $2 million surplus. Ohio House Of Representatives
The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year. In 1816, the capital was moved to Columbus, where it is located today. Members are limited to four successive two-year elected terms (terms are considered successive if they are separated by less than four years). Time served by appointment to fill out another representative's uncompleted term does not count against the term limit. There are 99 members in the house, elected from single-member districts. Sean O'Brien (Ohio Politician)
Sean O'Brien (born August 19, 1968) is a former Democratic member of the Ohio Senate who represented the 32nd district. The district includes all of Ashtabula and Trumbull counties, as well as a portion of Geauga County (including the City of Chardon; but excluding Chardon Township). O'Brien formerly served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2011 to 2016. Life and career A lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, O'Brien went on to graduate from Edinboro University before earning his law degree from the University of Akron. Mount Union College
The University of Mount Union is a private university in Alliance, Ohio. Founded in 1846, the university was affiliated with the Methodist Church until the spring of 2019. In the fall of 2020, Mount Union had an enrollment of 1,958 undergraduate and 220 graduate students. The Youngstown–Warren–Boardman, OH–PA Metropolitan Statistical Area, typically known as the Mahoning Valley (and historically the Steel Valley), is a metropolitan area in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania the United States, with the city of Youngstown, Ohio, at its center. The Ohio Senate is the upper house of the Ohio General Assembly. The State Senate, which meets in the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, first convened in 1803. Senators are elected for four year terms, staggered every two years such that half of the seats are contested at each election. Even numbered seats and odd numbered seats are contested in separate election years. The president of the Ohio Senate presides over the body when in session, and is currently Matt Huffman.
