Glenanne Hockey Club
Glenanne Hockey Club is a field hockey club based in Dublin 24, South Dublin, Ireland. The club enters teams in the Men's Irish Hockey League, the Irish Senior Cup and the Irish Junior Cup. Glenanne has represented Ireland in European competitions. They won the 2008 EuroHockey Club Trophy and were European Cup Winners' Cup runners up in 2002. Club history Early years The club was originally the staff sports association of the Brown Thomas department store based on Grafton Street and was originally known as the Graftonians. In 1943 when Graftonians became an open club, the club was reformed as Glenanne Sports Club. In addition to playing field hockey, in its early decades the club also had active table tennis, golf and tennis sections. Hockey Ireland, previously known as the Irish Hockey Association, is the governing body for field hockey in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Ireland Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Ireland men's national field hockey team is organised by Hockey Ireland and represents both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in international men's field hockey competitions, including the Men's Hockey World Cup and the EuroHockey Nations Championship. Nicola Daly
Nicola Daly (born 3 April 1988), also referred to as Nicci Daly or Nikki Daly, is an Ireland women's field hockey international. She was a member of the Ireland team that played in the 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup final. In 2010 Daly was a member of the Loreto team that won the Irish Senior Cup. Mary Waldron
Mary Veronica Waldron (born 5 May 1984) is an Irish association football player and cricketer who has represented both the Republic of Ireland women's national football team and the Ireland women's cricket team. She has also stood as an umpire in cricket matches. Football Club career Waldron was nominated for the FAI Under-18 Women Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002, while playing for St James's Gate. She was awarded a sport scholarship to University College Dublin in 2003. In the 2004 FAI Women's Cup final at Lansdowne Road, Waldron played in UCD's 4–1 win over Dundalk City. The Women's Irish Junior Cup is a knockout trophy played for by women's field hockey clubs in Ireland, under the auspices of the Irish Hockey Association. Entry is open to sides that do not qualify for the Women's Irish Senior Cup and to the second teams of clubs that play in the Irish Senior Cup. The trophy was first played for in 1909. Women's Field Hockey
Field hockey (or simply referred to as hockey in some countries where ice hockey is not popular) is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. 2010–11 Euro Hockey League
The 2010–11 Euro Hockey League was the fourth season of the Euro Hockey League, Europe's premier club field hockey tournament organized by the EHF. It was held at four different locations from October 2010 until June 2011. The final was played between Club de Campo and HGC at De Roggewoning in Wassenaar, Netherlands. HGC beat Club de Campo 1–0 to win their first title. UHC Hamburg were the defending champions, but they were eliminated by Bloemendaal in the round of 16. Reading took the bronze medal. Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club (''Club Haca Pheambróg'' in Irish) is a field hockey club based in the Sandymount/ Ballsbridge area of Dublin 4, Ireland.
