Glasseater
Glasseater was a post-hardcore band from Miami, Florida. The band formed in 1998 as a duo, eventually expanding to a quintet. History The band signed to Matt Fox's record label Ides of March in 1999, releasing their debut album ''Miles Ahead of Where We Left Off''. A second album, ''7 Years Bad Luck'', was released on Eulogy Recordings in 2000. In promotion of the release, the band embarked on a six-week tour of the United States with Mid Carson July and The Agency in June and July 2000. The tour included several cross-over shows with As Friends Rust and Strike Anywhere (the two of which were touring together), as well as a stop to play Hellfest 2K. In 2001, the band was signed to a three-record contract with Fearless Records. Furnace Fest
Furnace Fest is an American music festival held over three days at the Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark, National Historical Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama. It ran annually each August from 2000 to 2003, and ran again from September 2021 to October 2024 when it was thought to be the final run, but in November 2024, Furnace Fest announced it would return in 2025. The festival was founded in 2000 by Chad Johnson, then-owner of Birmingham-based Christian hardcore record label Takehold Records. Though a great many performers at Furnace Fest were Christian hardcore, metalcore and emo bands (including most bands signed to the aforementioned label), the event itself did not focus on religious beliefs. Hellfest (American Music Festival)
Hellfest was an American all-ages music festival that existed between 1997 and 2005. The festival showcased hardcore punk, hardcore music in its broadest sense, including punk rock, metalcore, emo, post-hardcore and more. It originated in Central New York, in and around Syracuse, New York, Syracuse, but eventually relocated to Central New Jersey during its final years. Hellfest was known for its fan-friendly atmosphere, including a lack of barriers that provided easy access to the stage for stage diving and sing-alongs. It also encouraged social-awareness through workshops that discussed such causes as animal rights, LGBT, LGBTQ and politics, with many of its bands and attendees following straight edge, straight-edge and/or Vegetarianism, vegetarian or Veganism, vegan lifestyles. On Bodies was an American Hardcore punk, hardcore band active from 2009 to 2017. Principally based in Cincinnati, Ohio, where the majority of its members resided, it also included members from Michigan, Florida, New Jersey, and Kentucky. Eulogy Recordings is an American independent record label established in early 1997 by hardcore guitarist John Wylie. The record company was founded in Cooper City, Florida but its headquarters moved around in various parts of Broward County, Florida. Since its buy-out in 2018, it has been based in Atlanta, Georgia. Fearless Records is an American independent record label that was founded in 1994. Matt Fox (musician)
Matthew Ian Fox (born April 28, 1973) is an American musician, founding member and a current lead guitarist for the hardcore punk band Shai Hulud and his side project Zombie Apocalypse. Fox writes most of Shai Hulud's musical and lyrical output. He has also played guitar in many other rock bands, like Planet X, The Murrychesstoes, The One Eyed Kings, Unwillful Demise, S.F.B and Bingo Mut. Metalcore term Fox is credited with popularising the "metalcore" term in the late 1990s/early 2000s, identifying bands like Earth Crisis, Deadguy and Integrity as metalcore bands, even calling Shai Hulud a metalcore band back then as a tongue-in-cheek term with his friends. As Friends Rust is an American melodic hardcore band based in Gainesville, Florida. The original line-up, which included vocalist Damien Moyal, guitarist Henry Olmino, bass guitarist Jeronimo Gomez, and drummer Matthew Crum, formed in Davie, Florida, Davie, Florida in September 1996. Formed in 1999 after the demise of frontman Thomas Barnett's previous band, Inquisition, they took their name from the Inquisition song "Strike Anywhere".
