Glass Casket (EP)
''Glass Casket'' is an EP by American deathcore band Glass Casket. The EP was released on June 9, 2023 through Silent Pendulum Records. Background Shortly after the release of the band's second album, ''Desperate Man's Diary'', Glass Casket became mostly inactive as the members focused on other projects. In January 2014, it was announced that guitarist Wes Hauch had joined the band. Around this same time, band members stated that they were writing material for a new Glass Casket record. On January 27, 2023, Silent Pendulum Records founder and CEO Michael Kadner announced that Glass Casket had been signed to the label and that a new record would be released later in the year; additionally, Kadner also announced that Silent Pendulum had obtained the rights to ''We Are Gathered Here Today'' and ''Desperate Man's Diary'' and would be reissuing the albums on vinyl. Glass Casket
Glass Casket is a deathcore band from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Originally known as Gadrel, the band released two albums before becoming mostly inactive in 2006 as the members focused on other projects. In 2013, the band announced that they were working on new music but would not officially reform until a decade later in 2023, announcing that an EP would be released later that year. History They were originally called Gadrel when releasing their first demo ''To Cherish a Falsity''. The band formed after several members' previous band Narayan broke up. Dustie Waring and Blake Richardson are also members of Between the Buried and Me, and Adam Cody is a member of metal band Wretched and the grindcore band Columns. Jake Troth, who joined Glass Casket prior to the recording of ''A Desperate Man's Diary'', also played in Columns, but left the band in 2007. Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore Breakdown (music)#Heavy metal and punk rock, breakdowns. Michael Kidner
Michael James Kidner (11 September 1917 – 2009) was a British op artist. Active from mid-1960s, Kidner was an early exponent of the genre. Through his interest in mathematics, he was part of the Constructivism movement and chaos and wave theories influence his work. Early life Kidner was born in Kettering, the son of an industrialist and was one of six children. He was educated at Bedales School, and from 1939 read History and Anthropology at Cambridge before studying Landscape Architecture at Ohio State University. He was staying with his older sister and her American husband in the US when war broke out in Europe. Unable to return home, he joined the Canadian army for five years. He was subsequently posted to England and after D-Day saw active service in France in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals.
