Glasgow Cathouse
The Glasgow Cathouse (also known as the Cathouse Rock Club) is a long-established alternative music nightclub on Union Street in Glasgow. It is well-known for hosting live gigs, with globally successful, mainstream bands such as Oasis, Pearl Jam and Fall Out Boy have played there in their fledgling years. The club has also been host to acts such as DragonForce, Lordi, Zebrahead, SOiL, Mr. Bungle, Jayne County and Glenn Hughes. History The Cathouse was founded by Donald MacLeod and was launched in 1990 in the now-demolished Hollywood Studios building on Brown Street. The club moved to its current home on Union Street in 1997, and forms part of Hold Fast Entertainment Ltd which also own The Garage. Oasis (band)
Oasis are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. The group initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals), Paul Arthurs, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (musician), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums). Lordi () is a Finnish Rock music, rock band. Formed in 1992 by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume maker Mr Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu), Lordi are known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. The band rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single "Would You Love a Monsterman?", and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". Zebrahead is an American rock band from La Habra, California, formed in 1996. The group's current line-up comprises rapper Ali Tabatabaee, bassist Ben Osmundson, drummer Ed Udhus, lead guitarist Dan Palmer and lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adrian Estrella. Playing a style of music that merges elements of pop-punk and hip hop music, they have released thirteen studio albums. Jayne County (born Wayne Rogers) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, record producer, and visual artist whose career has spanned six decades. Glenn Hughes (British Musician)
Glenn Hughes (born 21 August 1951) is an English musician, best known for playing bass and performing vocals in the hard rock band Trapeze and in the Mk. III and IV line-ups of Deep Purple, as well as briefly fronting Black Sabbath in the mid-1980s. In addition to being an active session musician, Hughes maintains a notable solo career. He fronts the supergroup Black Country Communion, and fronted California Breed from 2013 to 2015 and The Dead Daisies from 2019 to 2023. The Garage, Glasgow
The Garage (formerly known as The Mayfair) is a music venue and nightclub located at 490 Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, Scotland. The club was founded by Donald C MacLeod, a veteran within Scotland's live music scene. It is Scotland's largest nightclub, opening its doors in 1994. The main hall was the first Locarno ballroom in the UK, although it has since been remodelled by the addition of an extension to the mezzanine level. The Garage is made up of various rooms which play different genres of music which are all accessed under one roof.
