Iyael Lyases Tafari Constable (born 14 March 1978), better known as Glamma Kid, is a toaster and former Royal Air Force trainee of part-Jamaican descent. He had two top 10 hits in 1999. Music career During the 1990s, Glamma Kid was featured on productions by UK producers Mafia & Fluxy. Glamma Kid has performed live with Grace Jones on her hit single "My Jamaican Guy" on UK television for BBC Windrush. In 1997, Glamma Kid appeared on BBC Radio 1 rap show with Tim Westwood. In 1998, he was awarded the Best Reggae Act at the MOBO Awards. He has had two UK top 10 hits, "Taboo" and "Why". He also teamed up with UK dance duo Basement Jaxx on the song "Fly Life". His song called "Ladies Knight" was a collaboration with UK reggae singer Maxi Priest and interpolates Kool and the Gang's "Ladies Night". MOBO Awards
The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs) are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in " music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and Bantu music. The MOBO Awards were founded by Kanya King and Andy Ruffell. The first ever award was presented to Baby D, in the Best Dance Act category. ''Much Love'' is the debut album by British singer Shola Ama. It was released by Freakstreet and WEA on 1 September 1997 in the United Kingdom. Ama worked with songwriting collective D'Influence on the majority of the album, with Shaun LaBelle, Livio Harris, and Paul Waller providing additional production. ''Much Love'' was preceded by two top ten hit singles: a cover of " You Might Need Somebody", originally made famous by Randy Crawford, and follow-up "You're the One I Love". It is a play on the popular use of "Ladies Nights" at bars and clubs that were meant to draw in more female patrons in order to draw in even more male clientele. "Fly Life" (often stylised as "Flylife") is a song by English electronic dance music duo Basement Jaxx from their fourth extended play, ''EP3'', released in 1996. The track was largely based on the 1996 single "Live Your Life with Me", which they produced for vocalist Corrina Joseph, their collaborator since 1995 in order to make "proper songs". It was re-released as a single by Multiply Records on 19 May 1997 with a new mix, featuring added vocals from British reggae artist Glamma Kid. It later went on to become Basement Jaxx's first charting single in the United Kingdom by reaching the top 20 of the UK Singles Chart.
