Glamorgan
Glamorgan (), or sometimes Glamorganshire ( or ), was Historic counties of Wales, one of the thirteen counties of Wales that existed from 1536 until their abolishment in 1974. It is located in the South Wales, south of Wales. Originally an early medieval petty kingdom of varying boundaries known in Welsh as Kingdom of Morgannwg, Morgannwg (or Glywysing), which was then invaded and taken over by the Anglo-Normans, Normans as the Lordship of Glamorgan. The area that became known as Glamorgan was both a rural, pastoral area, and a conflict point between the Normans, Norman lords and the Welsh princes. It was defined by a large concentration of castles. The University of Glamorgan () was a public university based in South Wales, that merged with University of Wales, Newport to form the University of South Wales in April 2013. The university was based in Pontypridd, in Rhondda Cynon Taf, with campuses in Trefforest, Glyntaff, Merthyr Tydfil, Tyn y Wern (The Glamorgan Sport Park) and Cardiff. The university had four faculties and was the only university in Wales which had no link with the University of Wales. Glam rock is a style of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s and was primarily defined by the flamboyant clothing, makeup, and hairstyles of its musicians, particularly platform shoes and glitter. Glam artists drew on diverse sources, ranging from bubblegum pop and 1950s rock and roll to cabaret, science fiction, and complex art rock.P. Glamorgan Cricket Club
Glamorgan County Cricket Club () is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan (). Founded in 1888, Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War. In 1921, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to first-class status, subsequently playing in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England and Wales. Glamorgan is the only Welsh first-class cricket club. They have won the English County Championship competition in 1948, 1969 and 1997. Glam (band)
Glam (; stylized in all caps) was a South Korean girl group formed by Source Music and produced by Big Hit Entertainment (now Big Hit Music). The group originally consisted of five members: Zinni, Trinity, Jiyeon, Dahee, and Miso. They were the first girl group jointly launched by Source Music and Big Hit Entertainment. Glam officially debuted on July 16, 2012, with the single “Party (XXO).” The group gained attention for its progressive lyrics and genre-blending musical style. Member Trinity left the group shortly after debut, and Glam continued as a four-member group. In 2014, member Dahee was involved in a high-profile blackmail case involving actor Lee Byung-hun, which resulted in a prison sentence. The group disbanded shortly thereafter, in January 2015. ''Glam'' is the fifth studio album by German electronica duo Mouse on Mars, released in 1998. It was recorded for the purpose of being the score to the 1997 film of the same name. However, the soundtrack was rejected by the film's director Josh Evans. Release In 1998, ''Glam'' was originally released by Sonig on vinyl, though a CD was released in Japan by Tokuma Japan Communications. The Japanese release also included the additional tracks "Snap Bar", "Pool, Smooth and Hidder" and "Hetzchase Nailway". Glamourina, shortened to Glam (born Natalia Grytsuk; 15 May 1988), is a Ukraine-born Polish fashion blogger who creates fashion outfits. She holds a master's degree in International Relations (specializing in Strategic Studies) from Warsaw University, Poland. Her blog depicts fashion creations she wears herself instead of using a hired model. Some of her outfits are created on assignment or for sponsored events. The University of South Wales (USW) () is a public university in Wales, with campuses in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. It was formed on 11 April 2013 from the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. Usually, a person, event, location, technology, or product such as a piece of clothing can be glamorous or add glamour.
