Gladstein Fieldhouse
The Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse, also known as the New Fieldhouse, is an indoor track and field complex on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. From 1960 to 1971 it also served as the home of the Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team. History The Fieldhouse was originally planned to be a state-of-the-art modern basketball arena for the school's basketball team, which had been playing at the Old IU Fieldhouse. However, as the project's commencement dragged on, the allocated money was redirected to a new football stadium. As a result, the plans were revised to be an interim basketball facility that would be handed over to other sports after a suitable permanent basketball arena was constructed. The Fieldhouse cost $1,694,725 to build and was opened in 1960 along with Memorial Stadium as part of the school's new athletic plant. Terrence Trammell
Terrence Trammell (born November 23, 1978) is a retired American track and field athlete who was the silver medalist for the 110 meter hurdles at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics, and three time silver medalist for the World Championships. He was born to Leonard (Deceased)2010 and Ann Trammell in Atlanta, Georgia. The 1997 '' Track & Field News'' Male High School Athlete of the Year, he attended the University of South Carolina where he trained under Curtis Frye. His main training partner until 2002 was Olympic gold medalist Allen Johnson. He was the 1999-2000 NCAA Champion Indoors and Outdoors. Jim Spivey
James Calvin Spivey (born March 7, 1960, in Schiller Park, Illinois) is a former American middle-distance runner and Olympian. Spivey took up competitive running in Illinois where he became one of the best high school runners from his state. He was the 1982 NCAA DI men's 1500-meter champion with Indiana University. Spivey enjoyed a long Olympic career, in which he participated in the Olympic Summer Games in 1984, 1992, and 1996. The Minnesota Golden Gophers (commonly shortened to Gophers) are the college athletics, college sports teams of the University of Minnesota. Heather Kampf (née Dorniden; born January 19, 1987) is an American Middle-distance running, middle-distance runner and four-time United States National Champion in the 1 mile road race. Kampf competed for the University of Minnesota and since December 2009 has been a member of Minnesota Distance Elite, Team USA Minnesota. High school Kampf graduated from Rosemount High School in Rosemount, Minnesota, in 2005. At the 2004 Minnesota State Track and Field meet during her junior year, Kampf broke her high school's records in the 400 (55.29) and 800 (2:11.87) meter races en route to becoming the state champion in the 400 meter race and placing third in the 800 meter race. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets is the name used for all of the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
