''Gizmodrome'' is the self-titled debut album by supergroup Gizmodrome, released in September 2017 on earMusic Records. The album peaked at No. 14 on the UK Independent Albums chart. Overview As a band, Gizmodrome features members, Stewart Copeland (the Police, Curved Air), Vittorio Cosma ( PFM, Elio e le Storie Tese), Mark King ( Level 42), and Adrian Belew (Frank Zappa, David Bowie, King Crimson). One song, "Amaka Pipa", was previewed on earMUSIC's official channel on 12 June 2017, three months before the release of the album. A videoclip of another song, "Man in the Mountain", featuring the band recording in the studio, was also uploaded to the same channel three days before the release of the album. Gizmodrome (sometimes known as Copeland, King, Cosma & Belew) is a British-Italian- American rock supergroup formed in Milan, Italy in 2017. The four-piece band consists of Police drummer Stewart Copeland, Level 42 bassist Mark King, Italian keyboardist Vittorio Cosma, and guitarist Adrian Belew who played for Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Talking Heads, David Bowie and many others. Adrian Belew
Robert Steven "Adrian" Belew (born December 23, 1949) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. A multi-instrumentalist primarily known as a guitarist and singer, he is noted for his unusual approach to the instrument, his playing cited as fluid, expressive, and often resembling "animal noises or mechanical rumblings". Widely recognized as an "incredibly versatile [guitar] player", Belew is perhaps best known for his tenure as guitarist and frontman in the progressive rock group King Crimson between 1981 and 2009. Stefano Belisari (born 30 July 1961 in Milan), nicknamed Elio, is an Italian singer, comedian, actor and musician. He is a founding member of the Italian rock band Elio e le Storie Tese. Career Elio founded Elio e le Storie Tese in 1980. He is the lead vocalist and occasionally plays the transverse flute (in which he is a graduate of the Milan Conservatory), the electric guitar and the electric bass. In 2002, Elio graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan with an MSc in electronic engineering. He had previously interrupted his studies following the success of his music career. ''Klark Kent'' is the debut solo album of Stewart Copeland, and the first solo album recorded by any band member of The Police. The album was released in 1980 as a 10-inch EP on green vinyl. It was later re-released on black vinyl as a 12 inch with a grey and black sleeve. It includes the song "Don't Care", which had entered the UK Top 50 two years earlier. Background Copeland originally intended to record "Don't Care" with The Police but Sting had difficulties identifying with the lyrics and felt he couldn't do it justice. Sensing that the song had potential, Copeland went on to record it himself, playing all the instruments and singing. In order not to disrupt the career of The Police, which at the time was an emerging band, Copeland chose to record under the pseudonym "Klark Kent".
