Giuseppe Medici
Giuseppe Medici (24 October 1907 – 21 August 2000) was an Italian politician and economist. Biography He was born in Sassuolo, in the province of Modena, to Agostino Medici and Ersilia Messori, the second of four children. In 1926, after graduating as a surveyor at the Guarini Institute in Modena, he enrolled at the "Istituto Superiore Agrario di Milano" where he graduated in Agricultural Sciences in 1929, with a thesis on the economy of irrigation in the Lombard plain. Once military obligations were fulfilled, he briefly taught at the Technical Institute for Surveyors of Piacenza. In 1930 he published numerous publications and in 1931 he became the assistant of Giuseppe Tassinari; the following year he was a lecturer in agricultural economics and politics at the University of Bologna. Giovanni Leone
Giovanni Leone (; 3 November 1908 – 9 November 2001) was an Italian politician, jurist and university professor who was President of Italy from 1971 to 1978. A founding member of Christian Democracy (Italy), Christian Democracy (DC), Leone briefly served as Prime Minister of Italy from June to December 1963 and again from June to December 1968. He was also List of presidents of the Chamber of Deputies (Italy), President of the Chamber of Deputies from 1955 to 1963. Leone was the first Italian president to resign because of a scandal. Modena (, ; ; ; ; ) is a city and ''comune'' (municipality) on the south side of the Po Valley, in the Province of Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Sassuolo
Sassuolo (; ) is an Italian town, ''comune'', and industrial centre of the Province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna. Standing on the right bank of the river Secchia some southwest of Modena, the town is best known for being the centre of the Italian tile industry and for being the home town of Serie B side U.S. Sassuolo Calcio. Etymology The exact origin of the toponym ''Sassuolo'' is unclear. One theory is that it might derive from the abundant deposits of petroleum found in the area. This is because petroleum was anciently known as "''stone oil''" or "''olio di sasso''" in Italian, from which the composite word Sassuolo (''sasso + olio'') may have been created. The Senate of the Republic (), or simply the Senate ( ), is the upper house of the bicameral Italian Parliament, the lower house being the Chamber of Deputies. The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. Emilio Colombo (; 11 April 1920 – 24 June 2013) was an Italian politician. A member of the Christian Democracy party, he served as Prime Minister of Italy from August 1970 to February 1972.
