Gisèle Lagacé
Gisèle Lagacé (born June 16, 1970, in New Brunswick, Canada) is a Canadian comics writer and artist, writer and illustrator of webcomics. She is best known for her series '' Ménage à 3''. Biography She was born in 1970 in New Brunswick, Canada, and presently () lives there. She attended high school at l'ESN in Bathurst, New Brunswick, and studied visual arts for a year at Université de Moncton before graduating in graphic design from La Cité collégiale in Ottawa. She was a bassist for the Quebec all-female band Barbarella in the early 1990s, then worked as a graphic designer for Avenue Design Group in Ottawa laying out advertisements and designing logos. Works In 2000, she wrote and illustrated the webcomic '' Cool Cat Studio'' which quickly became popular in 2001 and won the Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards for best art. Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards
The Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards (WCCA) were annual awards in which established webcartoonists nominated and selected outstanding webcomics. The awards were held between 2001 and 2008, were mentioned in a ''New York Times'' column on webcomics in 2005, and have been mentioned as a tool for librarians. History The WCCA represent a form of peer recognition, with voting rights granted only to creators working on online webcomics. Winners of awards receive an individualized web banner for their site, although MegaCon announced in 2007 that a live presentation would be made for the first time. In 2003, 2005 and 2006 the awards were presented in an online ceremony depicted in comic strip form and involving a number of creators. The series is about record company owner Jerrica Benton, her singer alter-ego Jem, and the adventures of her band Jem and The Holograms. Betty Boop is a cartoon character designed by Grim Natwick at the request of Max Fleischer. Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974.
