Gisborne Secondary College
Gisborne Secondary College is a co-educational secondary school located in Gisborne, Victoria, established in 1981. The current enrolment is 1071 students. Students attend from years seven to twelve. The college serves a large proportion of the southern Macedon Ranges district in Victoria, with over 800 students attending school via school bus. The College has a large range of subject offerings, including electives from Year 9 onwards, and at the Senior School, VCE, VCE-VM, and VET programs. Learning centres Students in years 7 and 8 are educated in two learning centres. Students attend their core classes in the learning centres, but use specialist classrooms for technology, health and physical education, music, drama and some science classes. Rock Eisteddfod Challenge
The Rock Eisteddfod Challenge, also known as the Australian Rock Eisteddfod Challenge, was an Australian dance and drama challenge for government-funded high schools that was active between 1980 and 2012. Initiated by the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge Foundation as part of the Global Rock Challenge, the aim of the event was to promote healthy lifestyle choices, particularly abstinence from drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. The event started in Sydney, New South Wales in 1980 and subsequently spread to other States and territories of Australia and a small number of other countries. In 2004 an event for primary school students was started, called J Rock, to raise awareness about obesity and other eating disorders by promoting dance as a fun way to exercise. Brent Reilly (born 12 November 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the club with draft pick #12 in the 2001 National Draft. He retired on 13 May 2015 after suffering a fractured skull in a training mishap earlier in the year. Troy de Haas (born 15 June 1979) is an Australian tower running, mountain running and orienteering competitor. In 1999 he won a bronze medal in the long event at the Junior World Orienteering Championships in Varna, Bulgaria. It was the first ever medal to be won by a non-European at the international level in the sport of Orienteering. In 2006 he achieved Australia's best ever men's result at a Senior World Orienteering Championships placing 7th in the sprint event in Nagoya, Japan.
