Gipsy Hill is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Lambeth, England. The ward has existed since 1978 and was first used in the 1978 elections. Since 2022 it has returned two councillors to Lambeth London Borough Council and from 1978 to 2022 returned three councillors. Lambeth London Borough Council
Lambeth London Borough Council, which styles itself Lambeth Council, is the local authority for the London Borough of Lambeth in Greater London, England. It is a London borough council, one of the 32 in London. The council has been under Labour majority control since 2006. The council meets at Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton and has its main offices at the nearby Civic Centre. History There has been an elected Lambeth local authority since 1856 when the vestry of the ancient parish of Lambeth was incorporated under the Metropolis Management Act 1855. The vestry served as one of the lower tier authorities within the area of the Metropolitan Board of Works, which was established to provide services across the metropolis of London. In 1889 the Metropolitan Board of Works' area was made the County of London. 2014 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
The 2014 Lambeth Council election was held on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Lambeth Borough Council in Greater London, England. This was on the same day as other 2014 United Kingdom local elections, local elections. The election saw the Labour Party further increase its majority on the council, winning all but four of the 63 council seats. Notably, the Liberal Democrats lost all 15 of their seats, but one of their seats in Bishop's ward was lost by under 35 votes. David Courtney Boyle (born 1958) is a British author and journalist who writes mainly about history and new ideas in economics, money, business, and culture. He lives in Steyning in West Sussex. Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 2 May 2002. The whole council was up for election with boundary changes reducing the number of councillors by one since the last election in 1998 Lambeth Council election, 1998. 2006 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 4 May 2006. The whole council was up for election with no boundary changes since the last election in 2002. The Labour Party gained control of the council, replacing the Liberal Democrat and Conservative coalition that had run the council since the previous election. The election was notable for the Labour Party managing to win control of the borough despite a marginal fall in its overall percentage share of the vote. Labour taking Lambeth was also against the trend of the 2006 local election body elections which saw Labour lose control of 18 councils with a loss of 319 councillors. The 2018 Lambeth London Borough Council election took place on 3 May 2018 alongside other local elections in London, to elect members of Lambeth London Borough Council in England. The election saw Labour remain in control of Lambeth Council with a slightly reduced majority, winning over 90% of the seats. Lambeth () is a London borough in South London, England, which forms part of Inner London. Its name was recorded in 1062 as ''Lambehitha'' ("landing place for lambs") and in 1255 as ''Lambeth''. Michael William Tuffrey is a British businessman and former Liberal Democrats (UK), Liberal Democrat politician who served as a member of the London Assembly (AM) from 2002 to 2012.
