Giovanni Paramithiotti
Giovanni Paramithiotti () was an Italian sporting director of Albanian origins. He was one of the founders and first chairman of the football club Internazionale (1908–1909). Biography Paramithiotti was born in Venice, Italy, into a wealthy family of Cham Albanian origins. In the 18th century, his ancestors left Albania, which was part of the Ottoman Empire at that time, by joining the Albanian diaspora for better life opportunities. They moved away from Yanina Sanjak, in the region of Epirus, precisely from the current area of Paramythia, and preserved their origin as being from Paramythia with the surname Paramithiotti. They moved to Venice, Italy, where he was born. He was one of the founders of Inter Milan in 1908 after they severed ties with AC Milan and was elected as the first chairman of the new football club, remaining in office for only one year. History The first president of Inter Milan history was Giovanni Paramithiotti, who was also one of the founders of the club. Paramithiotti was succeeded by Ettore Strauss just one year later following a decision from the club's associates. The Sanjak of Ioannina (variously also Janina or Yanina, ) was a sanjak (second-level province) of the Ottoman Empire whose capital was Ioannina in Epirus. Paramythia
Paramythia () is a town and a former municipality in Thesprotia, Epirus, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Souli, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 342.197 km2. The town's population is 2,608 as of the 2021 census. Paramythia acts as a regional hub for several small villages in the Valley of Paramythia and features shops, schools, a gym, a stadium and a medical center. Cham Albanians or Chams (; , ), are a sub-group of Albanians who originally resided in the western part of the region of Epirus in southwestern Albania and northwestern Greece, an area known among Albanians as Chameria.
