Giorgio Mondini
Giorgio Mondini (Born July 19, 1980) is an automobile racing driver from Geneva, Switzerland. Career Mondini began his competitive racing career at the age of 21, when he came 26th in the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup series. In 2002 he made his way up to 17th place, before moving on to Formula Renault V6 Eurocup. In 2003 he achieved 7th place, and in 2004 became champion with three wins, three pole positions and a total of eight podiums. In 2005 he competed in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series with Eurointernational before moving to GP2 with DPR. He also tests for the Swiss A1GP team. When he made his GP2 debut in 2005 he raced with an Italian racing license. In December 2005, Giorgio enjoyed his first taste of Formula One when he got behind the wheel of a Renault R25 as a reward for winning the Formula Renault V6 series. 2009 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans () was the 77th Grand Prix of Endurance, an endurance racing (motorsport), endurance auto racing, auto race run over 24 hours. It took place at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France, and was organised by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) over 13–14 June 2009 and was started by Fiat and Ferrari chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo at 15:00 local time (13:00 UTC). A test day was initially scheduled for 31 May that year, but was canceled by the ACO due to economic concerns. The race was attended by 234,800 spectators. 2002 Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup Season
The 2002 Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup season was the twelfth Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season. The season began at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours on 20 April and finished at the Circuito do Estoril on 19 October, after nine races. Series veteran Éric Salignon scored four victories at Magny-Cours, Silverstone, Oschersleben and Imola during the season, he took the championship at the wheel of his Graff Racing-run car, giving team their first Eurocup championship. Swiss driver Neel Jani who competed with Jenzer Motorsport was the only Salignon's rival championship title was not resolved until the final round, and Jani finished in series' standings just four points behind French driver, winning races at Anderstorp, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Circuito do Estoril. Super Aguri
Super Aguri F1 was a Formula One team that competed from to . The team, founded by former F1 driver Aguri Suzuki, was based in Tokyo, Japan, but operated from the former Arrows factory at the Leafield Technical Centre, Oxfordshire, England. The cars were referred to as Super Aguri Hondas, with the team functioning to some degree as an unofficial Honda 'B'-team. After participating in the championship for 2 years and 4 months, the team withdrew from F1 after 4 races in the season due to financial difficulties. Midland F1 Racing (also known as MF1 Racing, or simply as MF1, or Midland) was a Formula One constructor and racing team which competed in the 2006 Formula One World Championship with drivers Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro. The team was created by the renaming of Jordan Grand Prix after its purchase by Canadian businessman, and owner of the Midland Group, Alex Shnaider. A1 Grand Prix Operations Ltd. operated as A1 Grand Prix (A1GP) was a "single-make" open-wheel auto racing series that ran from 2005 until 2009. David Price Racing (commonly referred to as DPR) was a British motor racing team, founded by David Price. The team competed in various forms of motorsport from their foundation in 1976 until 2008. The team was sold in April 2009, but continued racing in GP2 and GP2 Asia Series under the name David Price Racing until 2010. EuroInternational is a racing organization (which includes Italian division EuroInternational Srl and American division EuroInternational Inc.) owned by Antonio Ferrari. History Originally known as Euromotorsport, the team made its CART debut in 1989 with Jean-Pierre Frey at Phoenix. A podium (: podiums or podia) is a platform used to raise something to a short distance above its surroundings. In architecture a building can rest on a large podium. Podiums can also be used to raise people, for instance the conductor of an orchestra stands on a podium as do many public speakers. Common parlance has shown an increasing use of ''podium'' in North American English to describe a lectern. In sports, a type of podium can be used to honor the top three competitors in events. In the modern Olympics a tri-level podium is used. Traditionally, the highest platform is in the center for the gold medalist. In a motorsports race, the pole position is usually the best and "statistically the most advantageous" starting position on the track. The pole position is usually earned by the driver with the best qualifying times in the trials before the race, although penalties may award it to the second fastest driver, as the pole position is statistically awarded to the driver starting in first position.
