The following is a list of characters that first appear in the show during the 2020s, in order of first appearance. All characters are introduced by the show's executive producer, Frank Valentini. Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) was introduced in January 2020 as the distant relative of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Cyrus Renault ( Jeff Kober) made his first appearance in February 2021 as an antagonist to Benard's Sonny. ''General Hospital'' (often abbreviated as ''GH'') is an American daytime television soap opera created by Frank and Doris Hursley which has been broadcast on American Broadcasting Company, ABC since April 1, 1963. Originally a half-hour serial, its running time was expanded from 30 minutes to 45 minutes on July 26, 1976, and again to a full hour on January 16, 1978. Set in a hospital in the city of Port Charles, New York, ''General Hospital'' originally starred John Beradino and Emily McLaughlin; both actors stayed with the show until their deaths in 1996 and 1991, respectively. They were joined a year later by Rachel Ames who made her most recent appearance in 2015. The show is taped at the Prospect Studios in Los Angeles, California. Nikolas Cassadine is a fictional character from ''General Hospital'', an American soap opera on the ABC network. Originated by actor Tyler Christopher in 1996, he left the show on July 14, 1999. Due to Nikolas' importance on the soap, he was immediately replaced by Coltin Scott on July 20, 1999. Scott left the role on April 16, 2003, as Christopher made his return on April 21, 2003. John William Wactor III (August 31, 1986 – May 25, 2024) was an American actor and bartender known for playing Brando Corbin on the series ''General Hospital'' and Johnny on the NBC series ''Siberia''. He also had roles in the series ''Army Wives'' and the films '' USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage'' and ''Supercell''.
