Hermione Gingold
Hermione Ferdinanda Gingold (; 9 December 189724 May 1987) was an English actress known for her sharp-tongued, eccentric character. Her signature drawling, deep voice was a result of nodules on her vocal cords she developed in the 1920s and early 1930s. After a successful career as a child actress, she established herself on the stage as an adult, playing in comedy, drama and experimental theatre, and radio broadcasting. She found her milieu in revue, which she played from the 1930s to the 1950s, co-starring several times with the English actress Hermione Baddeley. Michael Gingold is an American journalist, screenwriter, and former editor-in-chief of ''Fangoria'' magazine. Career In his teen years, young horror fan Michael Gingold wrote and self-published the photocopied horror-review fanzine ''Scareaphanalia'' and made Super8 short films. His longest was the 40-minute ''Deadly Exchange,'' about a slasher killing foreign-exchange students. From 1985 to 1989, he attended New York University's film school. During this time he made the 19-minute horror short ''Hands Off'', inspired by writer Clive Barker's short story "The Body Politic." In 1988, during his junior year, he began writing freelance for the horror-film magazine ''Fangoria''. Two years later, he joined the staff as associate editor and eventually becoming managing editor. Josef Gingold
Josef Gingold (; January 11, 1995) was a Russian-born American classical violinist and teacher who lived most of his life in the United States. At the time of his death he was considered one of the most influential violin masters in the United States, with many successful students. Biography Gingold was born to a Jewish family in Brest-Litovsk, Grodno Governorate, Russian Empire (now Brest, Belarus), and emigrated in 1920 to the United States where he studied violin with Vladimir Graffman in New York City. He then moved to Belgium for several years to study with master violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. He gave the first performance of Ysaÿe's 3rd Sonata for Solo Violin. In 1937, Gingold won a spot in the NBC Symphony Orchestra, with Arturo Toscanini as its conductor. Kurt Gingold (1929–1997) was an Austrian-American scientific translator, and a charter member and second president of the American Translators Association. Life and career Kurt Gingold was born in Austria in 1929. He studied at Tulane University, where he was active in the student chapter of the American Chemical Society and Hillel, graduating in 1950. Chaim Gingold (born January 15, 1980 in Haifa, Israel) is noted for his work with the computer game Spore, where he designed the game's creators, including the Spore Creature Creator. Chaim was also a key member of Spore's design and prototyping team. He has presented at the Game Developers Conference and is an active participant in the academic game studies community. Gingold grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University, where he studied computer science, English, and art. Peter Gingold (8 March 1916 – 29 October 2006) was a figure in the German Resistance and the National Committee for a Free Germany. He was born in a Jewish family in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria. He was a member of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and its successor the German Communist Party (DKP). He also won the Carl von Ossietzky Medal.
