Ginetta GT5 Challenge
The Ginetta GT5 Challenge, currently known as the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge for sponsorship reasons (it has also been previously known as the Ginetta 20 Challenge), is a one-make racing series based in the United Kingdom. The series uses the Ginetta G40 and Ginetta G20 race cars and thus has a two class system. The cars use a sealed Ford Zetec 1.8-litre engine and tubular steel chassis, full integral FIA approved roll cage and fibreglass shell which ensures safe, controlled racing. Supporting the British Formula Three Championship and British GT Championship the series offers a low-cost opportunity to race in a single-make racing championship, with exposure to top racing teams and is an avenue into top level racing. One-design racing is a racing method which may be adopted in sports using complex equipment, whereby all vehicles have identical or very similar designs or models, avoiding the need for a Handicapping, handicap system. Motorsport One-make racing series (also known as spec racing series) are racing series in which all competitors race with identical or very similar vehicles from the same manufacturer and suppliers. Typically, this means the same type of chassis, powertrain, tyres, brakes, and fuel are used by all drivers. Snetterton Motor Racing Circuit
Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation since 2004, it is situated on the A11 road (England), A11 road north-east of the town of Thetford and south-west of the city of Norwich. Ginetta GT Supercup
The Ginetta GT4 Supercup is a one-make racing, Sports car racing series based in the United Kingdom, using identical Ginetta G50 and G55 sports cars. The championship supported the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) until the end of the 2022 season, then became a class in the British Endurance Championship run by Britcar. The championship began as the Ginetta G50 Cup in 2008, supporting the British Formula Three Championship and British GT Championship. In 2009 it moved to support the BTCC. In 2011, with the introduction of the Ginetta G55, the championship became the Ginetta GT Supercup, running a multi class format for the two different cars. The Ginetta Junior Championship is a one-make racing series based in the United Kingdom. From the 2010 season teams use the Ginetta G40, having previously used the Ginetta G20. The cars use sealed Ford Zetec 1.8-litre engines, and feature tubular steel chassis, fully integral FIA approved roll cages and fibreglass shells. Race weekend Meetings are usually made up of two 15-minute races. The starting grids for the two races are determined by a 15-minute qualifying session. Each driver's fastest lap in this session sets their starting position for the first race, whilst their second fastest lap sets their starting position for race two. Mikey Doble
Mikey Doble (born 8 December 1998) is a British racing driver currently competing in the British Touring Car Championship for Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing. He is champion of the 2022 Ginetta GT5 Challenge and the 2022 BMW Compact Cup, and he made his British Touring Car Championship debut in 2023. Career Karting Doble began his career in karting, and competed in various championships across the United Kingdom, such as the Super 1 National Super Cadet Championship in 2012, where he came 5th. Golf Following Doble's karting career, his focus moved to golf, which he played full time for 5 years with the ambition of becoming a professional golfer, winning titles at a county and collegiate level. George Gamble (racing Driver)
George Gamble (born 17 July 1996 in Nottingham, England) is a British racing driver competing in the British Touring Car Championship with Toyota Gazoo Racing UK. He made his championship debut in 2022, driving for Car Gods with Cicely Motorsport. Career Karting Gamble competed in various karting championships from 2007 to 2010, competing against the likes of Formula 1 driver Alex Albon, Formula E driver Jake Dennis, and World Endurance Championship driver and former IndyCar driver Ed Jones. 2013 Ginetta GT Supercup Season
The 2013 Ginetta GT Supercup is a multi-event, one make GT motor racing championship held across England and Scotland. The championship features a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers, competing in a Ginetta G55 or Ginetta G50 that conform to the technical regulations for the championship. It forms part of the extensive program of support categories built up around the BTCC centrepiece. This season will be the third Ginetta GT Supercup, having rebranded from the Ginetta G50 Cup, which ran between 2008 and 2010. Ginetta G50
The Ginetta G50 is a specialist GT4 class-developed racing car, designed by Ginetta Cars. A road version of the car was planned, but did not enter wide-scale production; instead, the smaller Ginetta G40 was launched. Development In late 2007, in what he later described as his ''Victor Kiam moment'', Leeds-based businessman Lawrence Tomlinson bought Ginetta Cars from the group of enthusiasts, who themselves had bought it out of administration. The G50 was developed to celebrate 50 year of production of Ginetta Cars. With base specifications penned by trained engineer Tomlinson, the car was developed in under six months. Cadwell Park is a motor racing circuit in Lincolnshire, England, south of Louth, owned and operated by MotorSport Vision, a business associated with former racing driver Jonathan Palmer. Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Silverstone and Whittlebury.
