Gillian Clark (aid Worker)
Gillian M. Clark (1956 – August 19, 2003) was a Canadian aid worker who was killed in the Canal Hotel bombing in Iraq. Ms. Clark was working for the Christian Children's Fund (CCF) at the time. Education She was a graduate of the University of Guelph. Career Gill was committed to aid work, in 1988 she was sent to Papua New Guinea with CUSO, she also worked for OXFAM and International Rescue Committee amongst others, always working in the more difficult parts of the world and often focusing her work on children and children's rights. She joined Save the Children UK and in the mid-'90s worked in North Iraq. Gillian Clark (badminton)
Gillian Margaret Clark (born 2 September 1961) is an English badminton commentator and former badminton player who specialized in doubles. Badminton career World Championships Clark won two bronze medals at the World Championships a decade apart; for women's doubles in 1983, and for mixed doubles in 1993. Olympic Games Clark competed in badminton at the 1992 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with Julie Bradbury. In the first round they defeated Erma Sulistianingsih and Rosiana Tendean of Indonesia and in the second round Katrin Schmidt and Kerstin Ubben of Germany. In the quarterfinals they were beaten by the eventual gold medalists, Hwang Hye-young and Chung So-young of Korea, 5–15, 5–15. Gillian Clark (historian)
Edith Gillian Clark is Emeritus Professor of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Bristol. She retired from the University of Bristol in 2010. Clark has made a significant contribution to the history, literature, and religion of late antiquity. She is currently working on a commentary of Augustine of Hippo's '' City of God'', under contract with Oxford University Press. She is a Fellow of the British Academy and an editor for the ''Translated Texts for Historians'' ''300–800'' series, published by Liverpool University Press. She is editor of the monograph series ''Oxford Early Christian Texts'', published by Oxford University Press. An event, "Christianity and Roman Society: A Colloquium for Professor Gillian Clark", was held in her honour in 2011 at the University of Bristol and a ''Festschrift'' was published in 2014 as a result.
