Elham, Kent
Elham () is a village and civil parish in East Kent situated approximately south of Canterbury and north west of Folkestone in the Elham Valley. At the 2011 Census the population included the hamlet of Ottinge and village of Wingmore. History Toponymy The origin of the village's name has always been a matter of argument. In some cases the claim was clearly a public-relations exercise. As the term wikt:gypsy, Gypsy is also used in many different ways, the ''King of the Gypsies'' may be someone with no connection with the Romani people, Roma. It has also been suggested that in places where their crimes were prosecuted closely by local authorities the "King of the Gypsies" is an individual, usually of low standing, who places himself in the risky position of an ad hoc liaison between the Roma and the "gadje" (non-Roma). The arrest of such a "King" limited the criminal liability of the Roma. Bulgaria Mustafa Shibil Mustafa Shibil ...
