Gilbert Livingston Wilson (1868 – 1930) was an American ethnographer and a Presbyterian minister. He and his brother recorded the lives of three Hidatsa family members; Buffalo Bird Woman, her brother Henry Wolf Chief, and her son Edward Goodbird. Wilson's extensive and detailed writings remain an important source of information for historians and anthropologists, as well as the Hidatsa people.Woolworth 1987 Life and work Gilbert Wilson was born in Springfield, Ohio, in 1868. He earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1899 after graduating from Wittenberg College, and was ordained a Presbyterian minister in Moorhead, Minnesota. Gilbert Brown Wilson
Gilbert Brown Wilson (1907–1991), best known as "Gil Wilson," was an American painter known for his large-scale murals, including his 1935 murals in Woodrow Wilson Junior High School in Terre Haute, Indiana. Much of his later life was dedicated to depicting Herman Melville's ''Moby Dick''. In 1955 a short film using this body of artwork won a Silver Reel Award at the Venice Film Festival. Early life Wilson was born on March 4, 1907, in Terre Haute to parents Martha and Wilton A. Wilson, a banker. He attended McLean Junior High and graduated from Garfield High School in 1925. As an active Boy Scout, Gilbert Wilson held a fifteen-year veteran pin and achieved a Silver Eagle rank. Gilbert L. "Whip" Wilson (born March 17, 1947) is an American Democratic Party politician who has been the sheriff of Camden County, New Jersey since December 2015. He served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2010. when he was selected by party leaders to fill the vacant seat of Donald Norcross who had moved up to the New Jersey Senate, until December 2015 when he resigned in order to take office as sheriff . While in the Assembly, he represented the 5th Legislative District. Wilson was a councilman at-large in the City of Camden from 1997 to 2000 and again from 2005 to 2010. Biography Wilson was born and raised in Camden, graduating from Camden High School in 1965.
