Gil Assayas
Gil Assayas (; also known as GLASYS) is an Israeli composer, keyboardist, producer, and vocalist. Previously, he was the lead vocalist and keyboardist of the band missFlag. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon. Assayas released the first GLASYS EP, ''The Pressure,'' in 2016. In 2018, he released a cover of the Dark World theme from ''The Legend of Zelda''. In 2019, he funded the production of a full-length GLASYS album using Kickstarter, to be delivered mid-year. Assayas has also released numerous videos through his GLASYS YouTube channel, often focusing on improvisations or new equipment he is trying out. In 2018, Assayas toured as the keyboardist of Todd Rundgren's band Utopia after the originally-announced keyboardist, Ralph Schuckett, bowed out. missFlag is an indie pop-rock band from Jerusalem. Formed in 2005, the band's music is mostly influenced by the new wave of British music and alternative rock. Todd Harry Rundgren (born June 22, 1948) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who has performed a diverse range of styles as a solo artist and as a member of the bands Nazz and Utopia. He is known for his sophisticated and often unorthodox music, his occasionally lavish stage shows, and his later experiments with interactive art. Utopia (band)
Utopia was an American rock band formed in 1973 by Todd Rundgren. During its first three years, the group was a progressive rock band with a somewhat fluid membership known as Todd Rundgren's Utopia. Most of the members in this early incarnation also played on Rundgren's solo albums of the period up to 1975. By 1976, the group was known simply as Utopia and featured a stable quartet of Rundgren, Kasim Sulton, Roger Powell and John "Willie" Wilcox. This version of the group gradually abandoned progressive rock for more straightforward rock and pop. In 1980, they had a top 40 hit with "Set Me Free". Though often thought of as a Rundgren-oriented project, all four members of Utopia wrote, sang, produced and performed on their albums; "Set Me Free", for example, was written and sung by Sulton. Ralph Schuckett (March 2, 1948 – April 4, 2021) was an American keyboardist, composer and songwriter known as one of the founding members of Todd Rundgren's band Utopia. He composed for film and television, including ''Pokémon'', ''Sonic X'', and '' Another World'', and has done session work and played live for many acts, most notably Carole King, appearing on her ''Writer'', ''Tapestry'' and ''Music'' albums.
