Gibraltar Social Democrats
The Gibraltar Social Democrats (GSD) is a liberal-conservative, centre-right List of political parties in Gibraltar, political party in Gibraltar. The GSD was the governing party for four successive terms in office under the leadership of Peter Caruana, from the 1996 Gibraltar general election, 1996 general election until the party's electoral defeat in the 2011 Gibraltar general election, 2011 election by the GSLP–Liberal Alliance. On 30 November 2017, the party underwent their second 2017 Gibraltar Social Democrats leadership election, leadership election as its leader, Daniel Feetham, resigned in July. As a result, 60.6% of the votes (from executives and members of the party) had gone to support rejoined GSD member, Keith Azopardi, who was a minister and Deputy Chief Minister under the first few years of Peter Caruana's run as Chief Minister. Gibraltar Social Democrats HQ
Gibraltar ( , ) is a British Overseas Territory and city located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, on the Bay of Gibraltar, near the exit of the Mediterranean Sea into the Atlantic Ocean (Strait of Gibraltar). Damon James Bossino is a Gibraltarian barrister and Member of the Gibraltar Parliament representing the Gibraltar Social Democrats. He is married to Rosa Arrimadas from Spain with whom he has three children (One of whom has severe mental disability). Biography Damon Bossino was educated at Bayside Comprehensive School, where he was a contemporary of Fabian Picardo, the incumbent Chief Minister and leader of the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party. The Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) was a liberal conservative political party from Gibraltar. The party was the third political party and the only party to sit on the centre-right in Gibraltar. The PDP was the only party campaigning for "a Gibraltar freely associated to the United Kingdom" and envisaged "a journey through the recognition of our right to independence". The party was also the only political party in Gibraltar that openly committed to implementing a means testing system in government housing. Gibraltar Labour Party
The Gibraltar Labour Party was a political party in Gibraltar. They described themselves as an integrationist party and stated that their formation was prompted by the need for a strong opposition to the government. They were founded and led by Daniel Feetham and former Leader of the Opposition and integrationist, Maurice Xiberras. They opposed dialogue with Spain and wanted to change the Constitution of Gibraltar, and support the right of Gibraltarians to decide their own constitutional arrangements under the principle of self-determination. Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party
The Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party (GSLP) is a social-democratic political party in Gibraltar. The GSLP is the oldest surviving active political party in Gibraltar. Its roots are based in the trade union movement, as its founder and former leader Joe Bossano was the District Officer of the Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU). The party has been led since 2011 by Fabian Picardo, who has served as Chief Minister of Gibraltar since the 2011 general election. The GSLP forms the GSLP–Liberal Alliance in partnership with the Liberal Party of Gibraltar. Roy Clinton
Roy Mark Clinton is a Gibraltarian politician, former banker and author who is a member of the Gibraltar Social Democrats and currently serves as the shadow minister for finance in the Parliament of Gibraltar. Clinton obtained a bachelor's degree in business studies at the University of Birmingham before working as an auditor for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He returned to Gibraltar to work in a management position for KPMG and later became chairman of the Gibraltar Bankers’ Association. He was elected to the Parliament of Gibraltar during the 2015 Gibraltar general election and in 2017 was appointed deputy leader of the GSD. Daniel Feetham
Daniel Anthony Feetham KC MP is a Gibraltarian lawyer and former politician who served as Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Gibraltar Social Democrats (GSD) from 2013 to 2017. Political career Mr Feetham was, until he stepped down in Oct 2023, the longest serving Member of Parliament on the Opposition benches. He served as Minister for Justice from 2007-2011 and was a member of the Gibraltar Social Democrats (the GSD) a centre right political party in Gibraltar.
