Dimitrie Gianni
Dimitrie Gianni (nicknamed Tache Gianni; 15 July 1838–27 June 1902) was a Wallachian-born Romanian lawyer and politician. Born in Bucharest, he descended from a Greek family that had settled in Wallachia. After attending gymnasium in Berlin, he went to the University of Paris, receiving a law degree. Gianni returned to Romania in 1865 and was named prosecutor at the Bucharest criminal court. In 1867, he became an adviser at the Finance Ministry. Gary Gianni (born 1954) is an Americans, American comics artist best known for his eight years illustrating the syndicated newspaper comic ''Prince Valiant''. After Gianni graduated from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in 1976, he worked for the ''Chicago Tribune'' as an illustrator and network television news as a courtroom sketch artist. Career He illustrated numerous magazines, children's books and paperbacks. His comic book debut was in 1990 with adaptations of ''The Tales of O. Lapo Gianni (died after 1328) was an Italian poet who lived in Florence in the 13th-14th centuries. He was a member of the Florentine circle of the Italian movement called '' Dolce Stil Novo''. Biography Born in Florence in the mid-1250s, Lapo Gianni was probably a notary. He was an intimate friend of Dante and Guido Cavalcanti and was associated politically with Dante during his priorate. Little further is known of him save that he belonged to the Ricevuti family and was still living in May, 1328, so that he survived both Dante and Cavalcanti. A number of his poems have been preserved, besides the register of his notarial acts for thirty years, from May 24, 1298, to May 24, 1328.
