Giancarlo Prete
Giancarlo Prete (5 February 1943 – 9 March 2001) was an Italian actor. Biography After he worked in the cinema as stuntman, Prete went to Alessandro Fersen Alessandro Fersen (5 December 1911 – 3 October 2001) was a Polish-born Italian dramatist, actor, theater director, author and drama teacher. Life He was born as Aleksander Fajrajzen in Łódź to a Jewish family, that moved to Genoa in 1913. ...'s acting school (where he later returned as a teacher) and began to act in many films and in television serials, sometimes credited under the name Timothy Brent or Philip Garner. In the following years Prete worked as dubbing director and acted only in television productions (including the '' Space: 1999'' episode " The Troubled Spirit" as Dr. Dan Mateo). He was married to Elizabeth Jacinto and had a son named Alessandro, who is also an actor. Giancarlo Prete died on 9 March 2001 of a brain tumour at the age of 58. ''Massacre in Rome'' () is a 1973 Italian war drama film directed by George Pan Cosmatos about the Ardeatine massacre which occurred at the Ardeatine caves in Rome, 24 March 1944, committed by the Germans as a reprisal for a partisan attack against the SS Police Regiment Bozen. The film was based on the 1967 book ''Death in Rome'' by Robert Katz. An Italian court gave producer Carlo Ponti and director Cosmatos a six-month suspended sentence for their film which claimed Pope Pius XII knew of and did nothing about the execution of Italian hostages by the Germans. ''Tedeum'' (internationally released as ''Sting of the West'', ''Father Jackleg'' and ''Con Men'') is a 1972 Italian Spaghetti Western film directed by Enzo G. Castellari. The title role was initially offered to Tomas Milian, who eventually refused. Plot Tedeum and his parents and granddad are all con men travelling around in a sailboat on wheels. When he inherits a mine from another well-known con man he assumes that it is false and tries to sell it. His first attempts turns out to be at the Texas’ sheriff convention and he has to escape together with another con man who is disguised as a monk. However, the mine does in fact exist, and the big boss Grant is out for it, though his confrontations with Tedeum usually ends in him losing his pants.
