Ghost Lake is a reservoir in Western Alberta, Canada, formed along the Bow River. It is located approximately west of the city of Calgary, Alberta, Calgary and immediately west of Cochrane, Alberta, Cochrane. It was formed in 1929 with the completion of the Ghost Dam, and was developed on land leased from the Stoney Indian Reserves Nos. 142, 143, and 144, Nakoda first nations by Calgary Power Ltd. Highway 1A is the designation of two alternate routes off the Alberta portion of Trans-Canada Highway 1. However, it is not the only name used for spurs off Highway 1 - Highway 1X is another such designation.
