Gheorghe Ion (general)
Gheorghe Ion (born 27 July 1960) is a Romanian former rugby union international active in the 1980s and 1990s. He is the father of rugby player Adrian Ion. Ion, a hooker, was known by the nickname "Tarzan". He started playing rugby union at Bucharest School Sports Club and had a long association with CS Dinamo București. Internationally, Ion featured in 38 Test matches, which included a stint as captain. He scored Romania's only try in a famous win over Wales at Cardiff Arms Park in 1988. In 1991 he represented Romania at the Rugby World Cup, playing all three matches. CS Dinamo București is a professional Romanian rugby union club from Bucharest, which plays in the Liga Națională de Rugby, the first division of Romanian rugby. They are the second most successful rugby union team in Romania with 16 championship titles, 14 cup titles and even a Champions League title to their name. Orange Sport (formerly Boom Sport, Dolce Sport and Telekom Sport) was a group of Romanian sports television channels owned by Orange Romania and available exclusively to its television subscribers. The first channel was launched on 11 November 2006 by satellite television broadcaster Boom Extrasatelit. 1991 Rugby World Cup
The 1991 Rugby World Cup () was the second edition of the Rugby World Cup, and was jointly hosted by England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and France: at the time, the five European countries who participated in the Six Nations Championship, Five Nations Championship. This was the first Rugby World Cup to be staged in the northern hemisphere, with England the hosts of the final. Also for the first time, qualifying competitions were introduced as the number of entrants had increased, from 16 nations four years earlier, to 33 countries. The eight quarter-finalists from 1987 qualified automatically with the remaining eight spots contested through qualifiers by 25 countries. The ''Coventry Telegraph'' is a local English tabloid newspaper. It is published by Coventry Newspapers Limited, a subsidiary of Reach PLC Midlands Ltd, along with a number of other local publications. Publication history It was founded as ''The Midland Daily Telegraph'' in 1891 by William Isaac Iliffe (1843–1917), and was Coventry's first daily newspaper. Sold for half a penny, it was a four-page broadsheet newspaper. In 1917, ownership of the paper changed to Iliffe's son Edward Iliffe (later 1st Baron Iliffe), upon the father's death.
