''Gharaonda'' (''The Nest'') is a 1977 Hindi drama film, produced and directed by Bhimsain. The film stars Amol Palekar, Zarina Wahab, Shreeram Lagoo and Jalal Agha. The music is by Jaidev. Plot ''Gharonda'' explores the lives of Sudip (Amol Palekar) and Chhaya (Zarina Wahab) who are middle class people in Mumbai and work in the same office. Chhaya is sharing a one-room flat with her younger brother, her elder brother and sister-in law. Sudip has rented a room with three other men. Bhimsain
Bhimsain (born Bhimsain Khurana; November 24, 1936 – April 17, 2018) was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and animator. He is best known as the Father of Indian Animation, along with his mentor Ram Mohan. He was the recipient of 16 President's National Awards for his contributions to Indian cinema. He is best known for directing the critically acclaimed '' Gharaonda'' (1977) starring Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab, and '' Dooriyaan'' (1979) starring Sharmila Tagore and Uttam Kumar. Amol Palekar (born 24 November 1944) is an Indian actor, director and producer of Hindi and Marathi cinema. Early life and education Palekar was born to Kamlakara and Suhasini Palekar in a Marathi language, Marathi speaking middle-class family in Mumbai. Bhupinder Singh (born Bhupinder Soin, 6 February 1940 – 18 July 2022) was an Indian musician, a ghazal singer and also a Bollywood playback singer. Early life Bhupinder Singh was born in Amritsar, Punjab to Natha Singhji, a musician and his introducer to music. Jaidev (3 August 1918 – 6 January 1987; born Jaidev Verma) was a music composer in Hindi films, most known for his work in films: '' Hum Dono'' (1961), '' Reshma Aur Shera'' (1971), '' Prem Parbat'' (1973), '' Gharaonda'' (1977) and '' Gaman'' (1978).
