''Gharabaher'' is an Indian Marathi-language political drama film released on 27 October 1999. The movie was produced by Ratan Madaan and directed by Sanjay Surkar. Plot In a time when the government decides to boost women's role in politics by setting quotas, there's Annasaheb, an experienced MLA for thirty years. He looks to his bright daughter, Vasudha, and urges her to step into his shoes, thinking it will ensure that things remain unchanged for their family. However, as Vasudha gets deeper into the role, she realizes it's more of a puppet position, with her father pulling the strings. While Vasudha's brother starts causing more trouble, the family chooses to ignore it. Things take a dark turn when Vasudha's college friend, Sameer Shinde, speaks out against the family. Sanjay Surkar
Sanjay Surkar (19 August 1959 27 September 2012) was a Marathi film director. He won three National Film Awards for the films ''Rao Saheb'' (1996), '' Tu Tithe Mee'' (1998) and ''Gharabaher'' (1999) in Best Feature Film in Marathi category. Along with films, Surkar had also worked in television and theatre. Early life Surkar was born on 19 August 1959 at Deoli in Wardha district of Maharashtra state. Mohan Joshi
Mohan Joshi is an Indian film, television and theater actor. He has worked in Hindi, Marathi and Bhojpuri films. Career Joshi started his career as a theatre artist in Pune. He was noticed in the play ''Kuryat Sada Tingalam''. Along with Anand Abhyankar and Suhasini Deshpande, the show was performed more than 1000 times. Joshi later on got various roles in Hindi and Marathi films. His 1993 comedy film '' Savat Mazi Ladki'' directed by Smita Talwalkar was quite successful. Shridhar S. Phadke (, born 9 September 1950) is a famous Marathi language music composer from Maharashtra, India. Early life Shridhar Phadke was born on 9 September 1950 in Mumbai. He is son of the famous Marathi singer and composer Sudhir Phadke and singer Lalitabai Phadke. He completed his education from D. G.
