Ramesh Saigal
Ramesh Saigal was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and actor in Hindi language films. Professional life His major work includes ''Railway Platform'' (1955), ''Shola Aur Shabnam'' (1961) and ''Ishq Par Zor Nahin'' (1970). He was instrumental in giving veteran actor Sunil Dutt a break in the film Railway Platform (1955) when Sunil Dutt was hosting the show, Lipton Ki Mehfil on Radio Ceylon. While covering the Dilip Kumar movie Shikast in 1953, Dutt met director Ramesh Saigal, who impressed by his personality and voice, offered him a role in his upcoming movie. Karan Dewan
Karan Dewan (born Dewan Karan Chopra; 6 November 1917 - 2 August 1979) was an Indian cinema actor in Hindi films. He worked in over seventy films from 1941 to 1979. He started as a journalist while still in college, editing a film-based magazine in Urdu. His brother was the film producer and director Jaimani Dewan. His decisive film was ''Rattan'' (1944), which was produced by his brother Jaimini Diwan, and this movie had turned out to be the biggest hit of 1944. He also sang songs in this movie under music director Naushad, and his song "Jab Tum Hi Chale Pardes" became popular. He sang in films such as ''Piya Ghar Aaja'' (1947), ''Mitti Ke Khiloune'' (1948) and ''Lahore'' (1949). Swaran Lata (actress)
Swaran Lata ( ur, ), ( hi, स्वर्न लता), 20 December 1924 – 8 February 2008) was a Pakistani film actress. She started her career in the film industry in British India and later moved to Pakistan. She was known as ''The Tragedy Queen'' after she proved her mettle in her emotional, tragic roles, her presence on the film screen and her moving dialogue delivery. She worked both in Bollywood and in Pakistani cinema. Early life Swaran Lata was born into a Siyal Khatri Sikh family in Rawalpindi, British India, now in Pakistan on 20 December 1924. She did her Senior Cambridge diploma from Delhi and then joined the Academy of Music and Arts, Lucknow. In the early 1940s, her family moved to Bombay.
