Getúlio (film)
''Getúlio'' is a 2014 Brazilian biographical drama film directed by João Jardim and written by George Moura, starring Tony Ramos as Brazilian president Getúlio Vargas, based on the final moments of the crisis that led to the death of the then president, during the 19 days before the August 24, 1954. The film was released in Brazil on May 1, 2014, coinciding with the Workers' Day official holiday – in reference to the labor policies implemented by Getúlio. Plot The plot begins in August 1954, after the attempted murder of Carlos Lacerda ( Alexandre Borges), owner of the opposition newspaper, then, president Getúlio has to confront with the increasing instability of his government, in addition to the charges of ordering the murder of his political enemy. Federico Jusid is an Argentine composer who resides and works between Madrid and Los Angeles. He has written the scores for more than 60 feature films and over 70 television series. His work includes the score for the Academy Award-winner for Best Foreign Film '' The Secret in Their Eyes'' (2009, Dir. by Juan José Campanella), for which he received the nomination for the Spanish Academy Goya Award for Best Original Score. The Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro (), more popularly known as the Grande Otelo, is a Brazilian film award given annually by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema. It was established in 2000 as the Grande Prêmio Cinema Brasil by the Ministry of Culture of Brazil that presented it in 2000 and 2001. In 2002, the newly established Academia Brasileira de Cinema took on the role of delivering the award which was then renamed to Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro. The award was sponsored by BR Distribuidora, with the 2002 edition having a "BR" in its name; in 2003, however, there was no sponsor. In 2004, it gained "TAM" in its name since TAM Airlines (now LATAM Airlines Brasil) became the award sponsor. From 2008 to 2009 its sponsorship was provided by Vivo. Catete Palace
The Catete Palace (, ) is an urban mansion in the Flamengo neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The property stretches from ''Rua do Catete'' (Catete Street) to ''Praia do Flamengo'' ( Flamengo Beach). Construction began in 1858 and ended in 1867. It was Brazil's presidential palace from 1897 to 1960, and the site of Getúlio Vargas' suicide. It now houses the ''Museu da República'' (Republic Museum) and a theatre.
