Getoar Mjeku
Getoar Mjeku (; born September 28, 1987) is a Kosovar Albanian lawyer, writer and politician, and current deputy minister of economy of the Republic of Kosovo. He previously served as deputy minister of industry, entrepreneurship and trade. Mjeku received his higher education at Texas Lutheran University and Southern Methodist University in the United States. He has an active law license in Texas, and is a member of the International Law Section. He has practiced in the areas of commercial and administrative law in the United States and Kosovo, and has written about international law and the Albanian language. As a lawyer and member of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mjeku has been active in strategic litigation against abuses in publicly owned enterprises, environmental protection, and the energy sector. Vjosa Osmani
Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu (born 17 May 1982) is a Kosovar Albanian jurist and politician serving as the 5th and current President of Kosovo since 4 April 2021. Born in former Yugoslavia and raised in the city then known as Titova Mitrovica, today the city of Mitrovica, Osmani became a political activist and studied law at the University of Pristina and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She worked as an advisor to the then president of Kosovo Fatmir Sejdiu before she was elected to the Assembly. Osmani held the position of Speaker of the Assembly from February 2020 to March 2021, and also served as acting president between November 2020 and March 2021 after the resignation of President Hashim Thaçi. 2019 Kosovan Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on 6 October 2019. The main opposition parties received the most votes, led by Vetëvendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti became Prime Minister, forming a governing coalition with the LDK on an anti-corruption platform. He is the second Prime Minister not to have been a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army during the 1990s.
