Get The Message (song)
"Get the Message" is a song by Electronic, the English band formed by Bernard Sumner of New Order and ex- Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. "Get the Message" was the second single from their 1991 debut album, '' Electronic'', and was a commercial success around the world. It is an example of Marr and Sumner's original concept of mixing the synthesizers of New Order with the Smiths' guitar sound. Composition Marr composed the music then Sumner wrote the lyric as engineer Owen Morris played him the song every four bars.'' Electronic were an English alternative dance supergroup formed by singer/guitarist Bernard Sumner (of New Order) and guitarist Johnny Marr (of the Smiths). Trevor Johnson (designer)
Trevor Johnson (born in Salford, Lancashire) is a Manchester-based graphic designer. He started his career at the age of 16 as a commercial illustrator and went on to become a freelance graphic designer. In the 1970's he was inducted into the S.L.A.D.E. Union. He designed record sleeves and branding for Factory Records and Hacienda Nightclub Fac 51 which was instrumental in the creation of the Madchester music scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. His designs created as Trevor Johnson and with his partner business Johnson/Panas for Factory Records are documented in the Factory Records Catalogue of sleeves and merchandise and company promotional material. The A-side and B-side are the two sides of vinyl records and cassettes, and the terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a "single" or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. It is named for its diameter that was intended for LPs. This technical adaptation allows for louder levels to be cut on the disc by the mastering engineer, which in turn gives a wider dynamic range, and thus better sound quality.
