''Get on Up'' is a 2014 American biographical musical drama film about the life of singer James Brown and is directed by Tate Taylor and written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. Produced by Brian Grazer, Mick Jagger, Taylor and Victoria Pearman, the film stars an ensemble cast featuring Chadwick Boseman as Brown, Nelsan Ellis as Bobby Byrd, Dan Aykroyd as Ben Bart, Viola Davis as Susie Brown, Craig Robinson as Maceo Parker, and Octavia Spencer as Aunt Honey. The project was announced August 2013, along with Boseman, Davis, Spencer and Ellis' casting. "Get on Up" is a song by American R&B group Jodeci recorded for their third album, ''The Show, the After Party, the Hotel'' (1995). The song was released as the third and final single for the album in 1996. "Get on Up" contains the sample of the 1981 song from Quincy Jones featuring Toots Thielemans' "Velas". Produced by Mr. Dalvin, it is the only Jodeci single to date that was not produced or written by group leader DeVante Swing. It was also the last Jodeci single released in 18 years before the group returned in 2014 with the single "Nobody Wins". Pegboard Nerds is a Scandinavian electronic music group, consisting of Norwegian DJ Alexander Odden and Danish DJ Michael Parsberg. The name Pegboard Nerds is an anagram of the duo's surnames, Odden and Parsberg. The duo first met in 2005 and formed the group in 2011. Previously, their records were released under separate projects and both have been producing since the 1990s. On 21 October 2015, the duo released '' Pink Cloud'' to fund breast cancer research which went to number 2 on iTunes Dance Albums, and into the Top 10 on ''Billboard'' Dance albums. Sam Vogel, also known by his stage name Jauz ( ), is an American DJ and electronic dance music producer based in San Francisco, United States. He founded his own record label, Bite This, in 2017. Early life Vogel grew up in Northern California. He began playing guitar and producing electronic music on his computer at the age of 15. He went to Icon Collective music production school. He previously went to a film school in Loyola Marymount University where he joined Kappa Sigma before deciding to pursue a musical career, prompting him to enroll in Icon Collective. He began releasing future house tracks before adopting the stage name Jauz. His career kickstarted when fellow musician Kennedy Jones had played one of his remixes. ''Let Yourself Free'' is the fifth studio album by American band Fitz and the Tantrums. It was released on November 11, 2022, by Elektra Records. A deluxe edition of the album with six extra songs was released on June 23, 2023. Background Lead vocalist Michael Fitzpatrick explained he and the band wanted to be "more judicious" with the writing process by writing only "two or three ongsa week and really think about it and sit with them." Fifty songs were written in consideration for the record, which were eventually narrowed down to the twelve songs that appear on the final album. The band intended for the album to nod back to their early influences, with songs like "Silver Platter" and "Steppin' on Me" recalling their debut album '' Pickin' Up the Pieces'' (2010). ''Get On Up and Dance'' is the debut studio album by American group Quad City DJ's. The group was made up of Jay Ski and C.C. Lemonhead, both of whom had previously worked with Chill Deal, 95 South and 69 Boyz, and producing hits such as "Whoot, There It Is" and "Tootsee Roll" for them. Singer JeLanna “Lana” LaFleur was added to the group after being discovered dancing at the Tootsie Roll video shoot.
